Firefox Home – Coming to the App Store

Mozilla has just submitted it's Firefox Home app to the app store. Firefox Home is a free application that allows you to access your browser history, bookmarks, and open tabs from your iPhone. Firefox Home securely syncs to the cloud so everything on your desktop browser is accessible on your iPhone.

Firefox Home is not a browser it's simply a way of gaining access to your bookmarks, history, and open tabs on your iphone. It also one way sync, so you can't add bookmarks or tabs to your desktop browser.   In order for Firefox Home to work you have to download and install Firefox Sync first. This is the app that will keep everything in sync.

If you use Firefox this will be a great tool to keeping everything in sync and having access to all your bookmarks on the go. You no longer have those moments of oh I'll send you that site when I get home. Just launch the app do a search or browse for the bookmark and email it to them.

I wish the app was more of an actual browser however. If they made a Opera like browser but had all these features built in that would be great. They could just use Apple's Webkit but have their bookmarks and tab syncing features built in, that's what I really want.

It's sure to get approved and will be pretty handy. For more information on Firefox home checkout the Mozilla Blog
