Facebook iPhone App gets Push Notifications and Address Book Sync

The Facebook app for the iPhone keeps getting better with the newest update that hit the app store this morning. The Facebook update brings push notifications and contact syncing to the already great iPhone app. The push notifications allow you to get notifications of new messages, wall posts, friend requests, friend confirmations, photo tag, events, and comments. The setting panel lets you turn each of them on and off to your liking, so you don't have to get notifications for things you don't care about.

The contact syncing is not quite what you are thinking. It doesn't add or remove contacts from your phone. All it does is find people in your address book that match one of your Facebook friends and then will put their profile picture and a link to their profile on their contact card. It's a nice way to get that little picture with your contacts however if you had full size picture attached to the contact it will be replaced with a thumbnail image that will not show up full screen when you call or receive calls from that contact.

Get the update as always it's free.
