Posterious – Makes for Better Email Posting to Wordpress and about a dozen other sites!

I love Wordpress and have been using it for several years now. The features are great and the CMS is second to none. The only think I wish I could do is send emails to my blog for posting. I know Wordpress has that feature but it doesn't work that well. You can't send it photos and video and it's not that intuitive. You also have to visit a special Url to get Wordpress to go and get your email posts, which is lame. So I found a solution to this by using Posterous.

Posterous is a Blog engine that allows you to post to it by simply sending it an email. I wrote a post about it last week and now I am in love with it. It allows you to send pictures, audio, video and other files to the blog and Posterous will embed them for you. You can then setup posterous to automatically update your Wordpress blog, Twitter, Facebook, flickr, Picasa, Youtube, Vimeo, Tumblr, Blogger, Xanga, and others. It will post photos and video to your other accounts so you don't have to post the same picture or video more than once.

You can even control where a post goes by changing the email you send it to. If you send a post to post@posterous.com it goes to all your websites. If you sent it to facebook@posterous.com for example it will only go to Facebook. You can even combine addresses like facebook+twitter@posterous.com and it will send it to only those services.

This make posting blogs from my iPhone really easy. It also makes posting content to my Wordpress blog a snap. Posterous also has a docklet that allows you to post content without leaving a webpage. You can select text, photos, and video and it will post the content with your comments to your blog with the appropriate credit links.

These features makes it a much better email Wordpress posting solution, not to mention all the other websites it can post to as well. There are several other websites out there that will post to several other sites but Posterous is the best I have seen so far.
