Well, if you want to bridge the gap between Brawl and the original Smash Bros., Classic Mode is probably the best way to do it. Of course, Classic Mode's a heck of a lot harder in the new game, so brace yourself!

In this event you play as Meta Knight. You must keep Kirby from getting onto the Halberd at all costs. You have two lives but only about 1:20 on the clock before he reaches the deck and you fail. Hammer him hard and fast to clear this event. Reward: Halberd Trophy

You can unlock Boss Battle Mode by clearing Subspace Emissary Mode. I know very little about this mode but I can imagine that it will probably be just like All-Star Mode, only with bosses instead of normal characters. I will post more when I have better information to give.
