What are you reading?

I just wanted to start a thread where people could tell everyone what they were reading at the moment. Do you like it so far? Would you recommend it? What other books would you compare it to?

I'm currently reading one of my wife's left overs -- The Elves of Cintra from Terry Brooks' Genesis of Shannara series. Despite my love of most things science fiction and fantasy when it comes to television and movies, I'm really not that big of a sci-fi/fantasy reader. The only book I can think of that I really like in the genre was Hyperion and I still haven't read that entire series.

I picked up the book previous to Elves of Cintra (Armaggedon's Children) and really enjoyed it. It ends on a cliffhanger (almost quite literally) and the continuation picks up in Elves. So far I'm having a bit of a struggle continuing. There are three storylines going on and the one I dislike the most (the Elves line) is the one focussed on in this book. My wife loves Terry Brooks but I just can't seem to get into him other than the casual "in-between" read. I think I'll revisit Cormac McCarthy after I finish this one and wait awhile before finishing the series.
