The witch in Left 4 Dead is no doubt a deadly adversary. She is sometimes avoidable and sometimes not. She can take you down with one swing and take all your health with it. On difficulties where health is scarce you don’t want to be loosing it to the witch. There are a couple ways to kill her without taking damage.
If you have a semi-auto shotgun you sneak up behind her, get close enough, and you can then shoot her in the back of the head and kill her in a couple of shots. If you don’t have a shotgun and you can’t get behind her you can do what’s called a power shot.
A power shot lets you fire an entire clip in one shot. If you get close enough to a witch and hit the witch in the head you can kill her with the power shot from any position around her.
How do you do a power shot well I’ll tell you. You need the Assault Riffle or the submachine gun for this to work. First you have to hold down the left trigger to malay. Then you hit the “Y” button twice quickly while holding down the left trigger. Then hold the right trigger while continuing to hold the left trigger and wait for about 5-8 seconds. At this point you should be holding down both triggers. When you are ready to fire your power shot you release the left trigger. You should then fire an entire clip in one shot. The button combo looks like this.
Hold down LT then hit Y + Y then Hold down RT . To fire release LT.
If you don’t get the whole clip off you didn’t wait long enough so just wait longer next time. This can be used to take out a witch or put a quick 1000 damage on a tank. Comes in handy when you don’t have a lot of time to fight it. You can charge it when you here the tank coming and when you get a clear shot take it. Be careful not to hit other survivors with your power shot because it could take them down in a moment of need.
