    A good school project

Years ago, a wonderful grammar school in New York’s Greenwich Village managed a school supply store selling notebooks, pens, pencils, scissors, etc. customers were students in the same school and eventually other neighborhood school. They learned math by keeping accounts, tracking inventory and sales, and calculating the profit. At the end of the term, they decided what to do with the profit. They usually bought Christmas gifts for children who were not as lucky as they. They then distributed those gifts at a Christmas party they gave at their school, this was a wonderful demonstration of humanistic values in action. Opportunities to each values are plentiful if you see the school as a kind of mini-community. Projects like a party, a class play or formal presentation to parents based on a class trip can involve everyone. Projects that involved teamwork, communication and sharing ideas help to build character and morals.
