    Opera Singer Carlos Sánchez

          

     

        

     Began his musical studies in Querétaro city with Maestro Francisco Núñez, and received a scholarship from SIVAM to study with maestros Teresa Rodríguez, César Ulloa and Denisse Massé. This Scholarship allowed him also to study in the 15th Annual Opera Program in Italy where received classes from Joan Dornemann, Bruno Rigacci, Lucy Arner, Maria Cleva.

    He has received singing technique and coaching from renowned opera’s personalities like Eugene Kohn, Renata Scotto and Ileana Cotrubas.

    In the 1st Summer Opera Program Saltillo 2002 he received acting and body expression with maestros Jorge Vargas and José Caballero.

    He obtained the first place in the National Opera Contest Carlo Morelli, (México, 2002).

    Selected in the singing contest Operalia 2003 (Switzerland).

    Finalist in the International Singing Contest Vincenzo Bellini, (Italy, 2003).

    Finalist in the International Singing Contest Montserrat Caballé (Andorra, 2002)

    Second prize in the International Singing Contest The Artist International Music & Dance Association's 2nd Annual Music Competition, (Canada, 2000)

    Davalos Osio prize and third place in the national opera contest Carlo Morelli, (México 1999).

    He obtained the first place in the Premio Alejandrína a la Creación Artística, (México, 1999).

    He has sung with the Orquesta de la Opera de Bellas Artes, the Orquesta Filarmónica del Estado de Querétaro, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Oaxaca, the Orquesta de Cámara de la Universidad Libertad de Salamanca, the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de la Ciudad de México, the Orquesta Santiago de Querétaro and the Orquesta del Nuevo Mundo, the Orquesta Sinfónica de San Luís Potosí.

    He has sung under direction of Eugene Kohn, José Guadalupe Flores, James Demster, Enrique Patrón, José Miramontes, Juárez Lincoln, Fernando Lozano, Anatoly Satín, Javier García Vigil, Antonio Lopezríos and Johannes Bruno Ullrich.

    He had participated in uncountable concerts and recitals in all the country: En Querétaro, D.F., Acapulco, Oaxaca, San Luís Potosí, Manzanillo, Colima, Irapuato, San Juan del Río, Saltillo, Tampico, Salamanca, Etc.. and in other countries: Toronto, New York, Michigan, Ilinois y New Orleans.

    He had participated in the following festivals: Festival de Primavera Oaxaca 2005, Festival Santiago de Querétaro 2004, 2005 and 2006, Festival Eduardo Mata Oaxaca 2005.

    That is quite a list of accomplishments. He has a very impressive career. It must have been such an honor to get to see him in person.

    Thanks for posting to the gallery, Paul. Tell me more, please, about these photos. Are you in them? When and where were they taken and under what was the performance? Is this someone you know personally, or was it just good fortune that you were able to meet him on this occassion?

     Carlo Sanchez is a native of the city of Queretaro I have spoken with him in several occasions. His  last concert  took place  in an art galery  close to Queretaros  Historical  center. In  one of the photos  Carlos is with Placido Domingo the great opera singer in others with the philarmonic orchestra.

    Carlos voice is perhaps one of the best in the world I had the luck to have been invited to this concert that celebrated the release of a new record. The concert as usual was excellent
