Just before Halo 3 came out Bungie hired a little-known director to direct a series of short movies for the upcoming game. The shorts gave us something we'd never seen before - the Halo story in live-action. Realistic ODST troopers, warthogs and pelicans are all included... and they look great. Even the Brutes are recreated to a realism that rivals most big-budget Hollywood productions.
Based off these director Neill Blomkamp was able to obtain financing and film his new movie District 9. Blomkamp had been in the industry for over a decade as a special effects designer and his skills show in both this short Halo movie called "Landfall" and in his movie currently in theaters.
Many of us missed the original Halo shorts so I'm posting it here for your enjoyment.
