Heath Ledger's Last Movie - The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus

The international trailer for The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus just came out and it looks terrific. As most of you know this was the movie that Heath Ledger was working on when he died. It's directed by Terry Gilliam (former Monty Python member who has directed such greats as Brazil, Time Bandits and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas).

According to Gilliam, Ledger had finished filming the majority of his scenes as Tony in the real world version of the movie. However he died before completing the "Imaginarium" scenes (that take place in a fantasy world). Gilliam decided to do something rather genius to finish the movie -- get three of Hollywood's best actors to complete Ledger's character in the Imaginarium. They each act as different versions of Tony and are played by Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell.

Very interesting so they took the "I'm not there" approach huh. Having many actors play the different parts of one guys personality. Sounds like a good idea. I had no idea that he was even making a movie that he never got to finish. I think Heath Ledger is a good actor in all but I don't know why people all of a sudden think he is the best actor that ever lived just because he died suddenly. Anyways looking forward to this movie looks really interesting.

Death usually causes everyone to exaggerate everything (MJ anyone?), but I think the reaction to Ledger's death was due to him dying when he did. His portrayal of Joker was the strongest acting of his career and he dies before the movie comes out. I think that was most responsible for all of the hoopla.
