Is it as good as the N64 version

I have a Wii and I want to know if its as good as the N64 version of the game. I remember when super smash brothers came out for N64 it was one of the coolest games around. If there was a group of people playing a game it was super smash brothers. I wonder how this version of the game will compare to the old version. I think that the game has been up for a while now so it shouldn't be too expensive to pickup now. What do you guys and girls think? Is it worth the money?

I have been a fan of the Smash Brothers series ever since the N64 version came out. Most video game series change each title considerably and you often wind up with a very disappointing game compared to its predecessors. Smash Brothers Brawl adheres very closely to the previous installments of the series. You will see some changes to some of the moves of the characters. Mostly the overpowered and unfair characters have been balanced out to level the playing field. There are a huge array of new items to use, and now over 35 characters. All the old classic single player modes are still there, with the addition of lots of new modes. You can also now play online matches and bring a friend along in the all new storyline mode. This new game type plays like a full game.

Smash Brothers Brawl is basically the Halo of Nintendo. It is similar in size and scope, and has almost infinite replay value. I have had Brawl for almost a year and still haven't even come close to beating everything. If you can get Smash for a good price, I would definitely recommend it.

I have to say after playing the new version that it might be better than the original. I like the old video games though. The original version of super Smash brothers will always have a special place in my little gaming hear. Good thing I never got rid of my nintendo 64. The thing that stinks is that you have to sit like 5 feet in front of the TV because the cords are so short.

I think the biggest problem I had with it was the new controls. I still haven't gotten used to them. You can use old Gamecube controllers which makes it so much more like the originals. I really like how well they stuck to the original gameplay, while still vastly improving things.

My N64 still technically works, even after the dog used it as a toilet. Those older systems may have been simpler, but they are sure resilient.

One huge difference between the original Smash Bros. and Smash Bros. Brawl is that Brawl is a lot harder to beat. While this can be frustrating at times, it makes it a lot better than the original in my opinion. I remember I could pick up a controller anytime and beat the original's story mode on the highest difficulty without too much trouble. Brawl, on the other hand, cannot be beaten--at least not if you have a life. Consequently, it has much better one-player value than the original.
