    Contact!

Looks like I may have intermittent internet access during my travels. No eve client, obviously, but I can access the forums etc.

So, just thought I'd let those of you who occasionally check the forums that I'm still contactable here, to an extent at least. Let me know how things are going!

On my end, things are pretty exciting. For those unaware, I'm sailing in the national championships (for my class of boat at least). Currently lying 10th out of 90, ahead of some former world/european champions, so it's all good =D

Wow, that's amazing! I had no idea you were a sailor, let alone competing in national championships. That's amazing that you're in 10th place too. Go Azual! If you get a chance, could you fill us in on some of the details of the race? I'm sure you're quite busy but if you get a chance to send us some info and perhaps even some pictures, that would be great!

I haven't been able to really play EVE myself because of being so busy with real life stuff. It sounds like your real life stuff is a lot more exciting though. Keep in touch on here, I would love to hear more updates.

    Re: Contact!

No racing today due to inconsistent winds, though we did get followed around by a group of dolphins for a while, which was fun. Yesterday on the other hand was a great day (even though it didn't end too well). First race was force 3 to 4 wind, finished in 14th which is nothing too special. Second race was in heavier wind, which we like. Reached the first mark in 2nd place, and held onto a top 3 spot for the first two laps, until gear failure took us out of the race. We're counting that one as our discard, and while it's disappointing, it was great fun to be outperforming some of the best sailors in the country, hence why it was such a good day.

Currently in 11th place due to having to count our previously discarded result of 18th, and while we've only lost one spot overall, we're down considerably further on points than before. Forecast for tomorrow (the final day) isn't promising, so it looks likely that these may be the final positions. It's not top 10 (which was our aim), but it's a result to be happy with.

Full results can be found here (look for 14980): http://www.fireball-dinghy.org.uk/ no pictures yet though.

I'll update you with final results tomorrow!
