    Bigfoot Discovered in Georgia

We have all heard so many hoaxes about the legendary Bigfoot that supposedly roams the wilds of Northern America and Canada. But this time we have solid evidence. Two men in Georgia found the body of a huge apelike creature that perfectly fits the description of the elusive Sasquatch. What makes this especially plausible is that they have invited teams of scientists to analyze the corpse that they are keeping locked in their freezer. They plan to have a press conference once results are verified. This is a picture taken of the specimen.

What are your thoughts on this find? Do you think it's just another hoax, or did they finally find the real thing?

Naturally it seems strange that the fabled creature would be found thousands of miles from any other alleged sightings. While it could be yet another hoax, the fact that they have a real, physical specimen and are having it tested makes me question whether it might actually be real. As hard as it would be for a species so big to survive in the populated mountains of Georgia without being seen, stranger things have happened in this world. I look forward to hearing the scientific results.

I doubt anyone would invite scientists to study a hoax, so I'm guessing this has to be real. I can't wait to hear the results of the research!

Bigfoot's my hero, man! He's like a real big sloth except not. 'Course, he was discovered in backwoods Georgia. So he coulda just been someone's Great Uncle Cledis knocked off while he was havin' a beer in the woods. Inbreedin' does scary things, man!

    Re: Bigfoot Discovered in Georgia

Well, the promised press conference has been pretty disappointing so far. Those who found the "Bigfoot" remains still have them hidden in an undisclosed location. They have only let their chosen scientists near the specimen. Naturally if this was real it would be wise not to leave it where it could be stolen, but they are still acting rather suspiciously. One of their scientists will supposedly be doing an autopsy soon.

The three blood samples weren't too conclusive either. One was deemed inconclusive, one was human, and the other was said to be 95% opossum. While it is possible that it's showing traces of a possum and human it recently ate, most likely it's showing hair from whatever fur is mixed in with it. Still, I don't know why they thought a DNA test would show anything. DNA tests show a pattern of DNA which can be matched up with other DNA from the same or similar sources. If most of it is similar to an existing animal they can see what it most closely resembles, but if we had a real Bigfoot on our hands, we don't have any other Bigfoot blood to match it up with.

We will find out what the autopsy results show, but the suspicious behavior of its owners isn't encouraging... especially after they announced that they will be leading Bigfoot search expeditions for around $500 per person.

    Confirmed Hoax

Researchers finally got their hands on the Sasquatch-pop and thawed it out. They found the feet to be made of rubber and much of the body had hair burned onto it to make it resemble the legendary Bigfoot. Those responsible for its discovery are currently unreachable and their voicemail says they are currently out searching for leprechauns and the Loch Ness Monster. One of them is currently being discharged from the Georgia police force because of the questions this raises about his integrity. Bigfoot still remains a mystery, and is still protected under Canadian law as an endangered species.

Imagine losing your job and reputation just for a little attention! You'd think that maybe the designers of the hoax would at least tried to salvage the last of their dignity instead of mentioning leprechauns and the Loch Ness Monster in their voicemail.

    Re: Confirmed Hoax

I originally couldn't imagine these guys would actually present hard evidence if they didn't honestly believe it was real. Obviously modern science wouldn't take too long to figure out the suit was made of rubber. Now I wonder what their real intentions were. Sure it got them a whole lot of attention, but is that worth losing your job and credibility? I guess for some it might be. Still I would hate to have to try to live that one down for the rest of my life.
