    Cybernetic Robotic Arm in Action

This fully functional robotic arm is referred to as "the Luke" after Luke Skywalker's mechanical arm in Star Wars. This prosthetic is patterned after the human arm and does all the functions of the original limb. With a little practice, testers are able to do just about anything they could with a real arm. The arm is full of processors that monitor things such as tension and pressure so people can do things as sensitive as shaking hands or eating grapes. It is also very lightweight and set to balance the appropriate weight of the other arm. Its controls are triggered by foot pedals, muscle movements, or even nerve impulses depending on the patient. You can see it in action on the video below.

Every man dies, but few truly live. Live your life to its fullest, every day as if it were your last.
