Man Reaches Down a 6-Foot Endangered Shark's Throat

Divers found a 6-foot Gray Nurse Shark with a long pole sticking out of its mouth. They found that it was a huge hook called a gaff, used to pull fish out of the water. It had apparently swallowed the hook instead and gotten away. It was most likely unable to hunt with the huge hook lodged in its throat. Because the Gray Nurse Shark is endangered, a team of scientists rushed to the scene. Strangely enough, they actually found the shark near where it had been reported. They caught it and brought it to a surface tank, where a researcher reached down its throat and removed the hook. It then swam away to safety.
