Macros are against the EULA for automating anything in EVE. WoW only allowed macros because of how little they can do. You couldnt use an in-game macro to automate your character to run around, kill something, loot it, sell the loot, heal then repeat. Doing that would be called a bot. You are looking for a bot, which is a program that can automate a process over and over again. Bots are against the EULA in WoW, just as they are in EVE.
The bot you are looking for would be quite simple to code, in fact, i believe i've still got a copy of my code to do just that somewhere... Being a programmer, when i find a new program language, I challenge myself to do different things with it. Since i am also a huge gamer, i also combine games into the equation. This tends to lead to macros and bots being created, for no purpose other than the coding experience i gain. While i have a perfectly working auto miner that'll mine 23/7 for weeks on end without ever stopping (with exception to your ship getting blown up), I've personally never used it... and, would probably have to do some digging to find it again. NOTE: its against the rules to use them, not make them. To me, its just a challenge to be beaten.
I am actually completely against bots, and try my hardest to run out any bots that we find mining ice (most common) or ore. The easiest way to detect em is that most will be running a shield booster constantly, and mine in packs of 3-4 with 1 hauler. No one will respond to anything you say in local, and will auto-reject your chat invitations. If you detect some of these guys, use a fast frig or cruiser to bump them out of range from the ice or asteroids. Do NOT shoot them though. Bumping them away will cause their bot to mess up and stop mining. If they are a person, they will probably ask you to stop bumping them in local chat. There was a corp that went around and would kill Hulks that were using bots in HIGH SEC. Yes, in HIGH SEC. They had to use a battlecruiser, and was killed by Concord. But, by killing 3-5 Hulks, they did 300-500 MILLION ISK worth of damage for only 40 MILLION ISK. People do not like botters, since they hurt the economy, by bringing in ISK that should not be in the game.
Ultimately, the verdict is: do not use macros/bots unless you want to be hated or marked as a botter, your ships destroyed and the possibility of your account being banned. This is why I dont use what I make... also, its just wrong, cheap and not cool. Besides, playing EVE is much more rewarding and fun than the ISK you could earn.
