    Trading

Initially, all sales on behalf of the corp will be done by myself.

This is to ensure the system is working and that I can maintain an audit trail, allowing me to ensure that everything works and we all get paid, myself included.

In the longer run I will be up to my arse in corp admin and will be looking for some savvy traders with an eye for profit to be selling the ore our hard working miners and haulers supply. In the even longer term these traders will also be selling goods the corp makes.

If you are looking at a trading role and might be interested in this I will require the following from Traders:

    1. High trade skills that boost profit, especially Negotiation, Dealer Connections, Marketing etc.

    2. High Charisma value

    3. Total and complete trustworthiness - obvious really but it needs to be said. Anyone who want to become a trader will start out doing small trading task in order so we can build trust between them and the corp. This is not meant to be derogatory but obviously Trading puts a portion of everyone in the corps profit at risk so we have to ensure that our Traders can do the job quickly, diligently and without error.

If you interested in Trading, please contact me in-game for a chat about it.

    Re: Trading

That's definitely a good system. Being a trader for the whole corp is a lot of responsibility. You will probably also want to get a rather large hauler since I foresee huge amounts of ore to be traded. Once we get our mining running full force, we're going to be raking in the ore.

    Re: Trading

I've been trading on my own quite profitably.  Here are my specs:

    Good points -

    Trade 5
    Broker Relations 4
    Daytrading 4
    Marketing 4
    Retail 4

    Charisma 18.36

    Negative points -

Only have Gallente Industrial 3 so I think Iteron Mark III is the largest ship I can handle.  7740 m3 capacity with two lvl 1cargo expanders.
Some 52 days until I get to Freighters.
Can't be online as often as other players.

I'm doing quite well as an individual trader, but if there's some way to hone my skills and do even better for the corp, I'd like to try.  I'll contact you in-game.

    Re: Trading

Have you looked into Cargo Expander 2s? I have my Iteron Mark 3 fitted with them in all the low slots and I can carry 11,600 m3. It makes a big difference. If you keep training industrial skills, you can get bigger and better haulers but it takes a lot of time.

I wouldn't invest the 52 days towards freighter skills just yet. The biggest consideration with freighters is pricing. It's about 800 million isk to get an Obelisk. So until you're nearing the billion dollar mark, I would put that on hold and start with Cargo Expander 2s, then go for bigger Iterons.

    Re: Trading

Yeah, Frieghters are a long-term aim for sure.

I'm just a day away from my Iteron IV now and I reccomend at least training for that if you intend to go trading, it's between 4 and 6 days to train from Industrials III based on skills.

One of those can fit 3 Cargo Expander 2's and that is plenty of space for the volumes of ore we are transporting atm.

    Re: Trading

I did consider Cargo Expander 2s, but they are so much more expensive than 1s, I didn't find them to be worth it.  For personal hauling, most of the batches of stuff that NPCs are willing to handle come out a bit lower than the 7740 m3 I can currently handle.  But now that I have a lot more cash than I had on hand a week ago, the expander 2s might be coming my way.

    Re: Trading

I would definitely think about Expanded Cargohold II's, they really are a good investment as the higher capacity means less trips.

This is particularly true at the monent as currently our biggest earner for the corp is unprocessed Kernite which is very massy so you will need every m3 you can squeeze out of your hauler.
