    Lost Dog... In the Couch

My old neighbors had a pet chihuahua. One day they couldn't find their dog anywhere. They were really worried about their tiny dog and were afraid it had somehow gotten out of the house and might be eaten by some bigger animal... like a medium size cat or a bird or something. They asked all around the neighborhood in a state of near panic but couldn't find the poor dog anywhere. Later that day they called off the search. They had heard barking coming from their couch, and after a bit of searching, found the dog was lost in the couch. I know couches are notorious for swallowing remotes, keys, and loose pocket change. Apparently small dogs fall under this category too. So if you have a tiny dog and lose it, be sure to check your couch.

    That is one tiny dog!
Computers are like dogs. They can sense fear. You must BELIEVE that they will work.

With all of those bizarre phobias out there, I wonder if there's a specific phobia for being swallowed by couches. If there is, I'm sure your neighbor's chihuaha has it now.

I didn't find anything regarding couches, but I found a list of some other recognized phobias. I have to wonder if people actually have these or if those naming phobias are just afraid someday someone might contract a fear of these things. This is just the phobias starting with "A":

    Acerophobia- Fear of sourness.
Ablutophobia- Fear of washing or bathing.
    Automysophobia- Fear of being dirty.
    Alliumphobia- Fear of garlic.
    Allodoxaphobia- Fear of opinions.
    Anablephobia- Fear of looking up.
Anglophobia- Fear of England or English culture, etc.
Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.
    Arrhenphobia- Fear of men.
    Asymmetriphobia- Fear of asymmetrical things.
    Aulophobia- Fear of flutes.
Autodysomophobia- Fear of one that has a vile odor.
Automatonophobia- Fear of ventriloquist's dummies, animatronic creatures, wax statues - anything that falsly represents a sentient being.

It would pretty funny to see someone with Allodoxaphobia post on Blogiversity. I wonder if someone with Allodoxaphobia would scared of their own opinions... would they scared of their own mind? Wouldn't it be an opinion to think that opinions are scary? .... silly people with Allodoxaphobia...

Re: Lost Dog... In the Couch

LOL I just thought of the movie, Hot Shots, when you mentioned sitting on Chihuahuas. When you have a dog that small, you have to worry about such things. It must be hard to be so tiny. I think that's why tiny dogs like that have to be so loud. It helps them feel better about themselves. I mean who wouldn't prefer a superiority complex over an inferiority complex.

And I think Blogiversity is about the worst place for an Allodoxaphobic. We have plenty of opinions here to terrify those with a fear of opinions. I think if I had Allodoxaphobia I'd move to some communist country where there are no opinions.

I HATE OPINIONS! .... You see the irony.

    In my opinion...

    what's your opinion?

do these jeans make me look fat?

what do you want for lunch today?

hmm.. what movie should we see?

    do you like cheese?

Do you think my stuffed goat is cute?

    what's your flavorite?

*somewhere out there someone with Allodoxaphobia is hiding from their own thoughts*

The nice thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from.
