Everyone has heard of Red Bull and how it "gives you wings", or Monster, Joker or any of those other energy drinks that are famous for the boost of energy it supplies you. But that's not all they do. Sure they give you a temporary energy boost from the caffeine. It's a stimulant that temporarily perks you up. But too much caffeine can cause side effects that make that little wake up call almost not worth it. Side effects include: Nervousness, irritability, increase blood pressure, insomnia, hand tremors, and in some cases dehydration. Caffeine can also make your heart beat faster and cause abnormal heart rhythms, which is bad news for anyone with heart disease.
The reason why most people start drinking energy drinks is because they are frequently tired or run down. Energy drinks are great if you want to be in a worse off position in the long run. Instead, try getting better sleep, exersice regularly and eat a healthy diet. These strategies not only will increase your energy in the short fun, but will they will maintain your overall physical and mental fitness in the long run. Also, EAT BREAKFAST. Everyone says that breakfast is the most important meat of the day. They were not fibbing. People who eat breakfast are more productive and have more energy compared to people who don't. And if you do need an extra boost of energy.. eat an apple or two.
The nice thing about standards is that there are so many of them to choose from.
