    Addons

    Hello my name is Jesse;

If your going to play Wow you've have to have the right tools.

QuestHelper is a great way to Quest and level up fast. Before I started playing Wow we ether have to read the quest and estimate where we had to go, or look it up on the WWW(World Wide Web). With QuestHelper all you have to do is look at your map. Now don't get me wrong QuestHelper is not perfect. QuestHelper doesn't show group and raid quests. And yes that includes battleground quests, aka raid.

I know there are all sorts of button/toggle formats/styles out there running around. The one I use is Bongos 2, it is great but if your going to get one  try a few first and stick with the one you like.

Auctioneer is a nice to have program. Me personally I still don't grasp the controls of this program. I'm still tinkering around with it but it is great to have.

Communication is the key. If you don't really like the in-game party/raid voice communicator or you just like talking to your peeps/guildies wile you solo quest, then i suggest you get Ventrilo or teamtalk. usually you pick what your guild uses, Ive only used these two but I'm sure there are more out there if you look.

I get my addons at Curse.com. here is how you download an addon

FIRST make a new folder some where on your drive(C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) and name it like: wow addons. SECOND download the addon to the folder you just created. THIRD once its done downloading right click on the addon. FOURTH now depending on the software you have, you should be able to open it using what software your computer came with. Example; right on the addon/open with/compressed(zipped) folder. If that dose not work you will have to download winzip or some equivalent. FIFTH then copy and paste to the folder under Wow called Addons. (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns). now you are done, Not. SIXTH start Wow and before you chose your character and enter Wow, there should be a button in the lower left called addons. click the addons button and click the box next to your addon you want to load in the game then your good to go.

Reminder!!!!! I am not telling you to go out there and load a bunch of addons. also I'm not saying I'm right and your wrong. I'm just telling you the people what i have done and it helped me. This works for me, it may or may not work for you.

    Re: Addons

Thanks for the info. I haven't tried quest helper but I'll definitely give it a shot. If any of you want to see some good addons or recommend addons for others, check out our WoW addons forum in the general WoW forums on Blogiversity. You can access them HERE.

    Re: Addons

Pretty much any WoW addon you find will be a free program. I don't think it's actually legal to sell any addon for WoW, which is actually quite good for us gamers. Theoretically, you could download hundreds of addons and just see which you like. The problem is, lots of addons running at once tend to make the screen really messy. You have to choose which addons are right for you.

    Re: Addons

Quest Helper is indeed a wonderful addon!

A Couple other addons that i recommend (But are not necessary)  are:

Equip Compare - Compares your equipped item to whatever item you hover over or link. Nice when getting new armor in AH

Quest level - Simple addon showing the recommended level for that quest. Shows in your quest log.

Recount - A damage, dps, and healing meter program. Shows who did the most damge or healing in a group. nice for instance runs to see who is really the top Dog :p

     i Hope these are helpful!

    Re: Addons

I used to use Equip Compare too, but I have been getting the compare effect from one of my active addons. I'm pretty sure it is my outfitter but it could be Auctioneer. Both of those are pretty versatile tools.

I'll definitely have to try out recount. I used to use another addon for that but I'm always on the lookout for new and better ones. I love being able to look at how my healing/damage is doing compared to the rest of the group. It's now I used to justify my existence as a feral druid back when no one believed they could do any decent dps.
