I'm no parent, but I know what you all mean. It's really hard for me to get out of a string of classes (especially political science classes) and then confront my 7-year-old little sister's deep, probing questions and logical fallacies. It's not easy operating in two worlds, a university and the innocent, ignorant mind of a child, I have to constantly bite my tongue around my sister in order to avoid sounding like one of those lifeless political science textbooks I have to read. This makes me feel really old, and my inability to give her simple, childlike answers sometimes makes me feel a little incompetent, as if my education is making me a poorer communicator. Why can't I just enjoy my sister's world as a child would?
