    Overview of Wolf

     Wolf

While wolf may be one of the hardest characters to get (Requiring 450 Brawl matches to unlock) he is one of my favorite Star Fox characters.  It is surprising to note that none of his attacks are amazingly high in damage.  This is nice in that he doesn't feel overpowered, but at the same time leaves you feeling a tad let down when you realize that the last unlockable character in the game is more or less a clone of his counterparts.

However, if you weren't quite happy with Fox, and Falcon didn't do that trick either, you'll probably find what you're looking for in Wolf (as I did).  Like his friends(or enemies), most of his moves are karate-based kicks, with the addition of claw attacks.  Also, the handgun that he fires has a limited distance over which the beam travels, ruling out any long-distance damage, but has the added bonus of damaging an enemy if you drawl the gun standing right next to them.  In my testing, I found the beam from his gun causes 4-5% of damage, while if you can combine that with the handgun-drawl attack you're looking at about 10% damage guaranteed.

The rest of his moves are against essentially copies of Falco and Fox.  Really, the biggest difference I found was in the speed and timing of his movements.  Once you notice the subtle differences between the Star Fox characters, you're likely to find at least one of them that suits your particular playing style.

    Happy Brawling!

    Re: Overview of Wolf

I have played a little with Wolf and I really like him. His gun is significantly slower than that of Fox or Falco, but he makes up for it with the kickback. If you can time your shots right, you can keep someone bouncing back and bounce them right off a ledge. I also really like his up special move. It rockets you up just like Fox, but it seems to do a lot more damage and kick, and scores multiple hits. I also love his running smash. It lets you slide into a flip-kick to launch your enemies skyward for some good quick KOs.
