Hataki Kakashi is the teacher assigned to Naruto's group. He is known as one of the toughest teachers who has never passed a student, until Naruto's team. He is a very easygoing guy, always seemingly lazy and light hearted. He loves reading the novels published by Jiraya, and is often seen reading them as he walks around, or when fighting his students. He always keeps his left eye covered when out of combat to disguise his Sharingan. He only uses this ability when he needs to really unleash his full power. When he really goes all out, he can wield enormous power. His Sharingan uses up a lot of his strength so he can only fight with it for a short time. He often over stresses himself and must rest up after a battle for sometimes weeks. Everyone I know who has seen Naruto says Kakashi reminds them of me. He's definitely my favorite character for this reason.
Back Story:
Very little is known about Kakashi's past. He remains a mystery in many aspects of his life. We do know that he used to be a member of the ANBU, the most elite squad of ninja dedicated to working to protect the village. They're kind of like the FBI, Secret Service, and National Guard all rolled into one.
Abilities:
Sharingan: Kakashi possesses the Sharingan, an eye that can read enemy movements perfectly. This allows him to be able to almost flawlessly dodge attacks, or perfectly copy the techniques of an enemy. He can learn and use these techniques later after seeing them only once. We really have no idea how many techniques he knows but it is rumored to be in the thousands. He can use shadow clones, elemental techniques, illusionary techniques, and even create a pinpoint dimensional rift to tear off an enemy's limbs.
Summon Nin-Dogs: Kakashi can summon a pack of ninja dogs on command. They can be used for battle or to track enemies. Pakkun is the leader of his dogs, and can talk like a human.
Chidori: Also known as lightning edge. This is Kakashi's only original technique. It is very similar to Naruto's Rasengan. It focuses huge amounts of energy into his hand and can cut through just about anything.
