    Naruto Character Profile: Naruto

This series is full of deep and dynamic characters that make you really empathize with them. The most dynamic and important is Uzumaki Naruto. While he starts as an annoying, bratty kid that no one likes (and quite frankly I didn't like him either at first), he grows into a strong, mature leader who we actually grow to love. One of the characters says that he's the kind of person who can't be the main character in a story. He proves that he's actually the perfect main character in his story. He is loud, obnoxious, impulsive, easily angered, and in many cases just plain stupid. Where other ninjas dress in dark colors and surprise foes from the shadows, he wears bright orange, makes a lot of noise, and charges right into battle. Through his hard work and determination, he develops his skills to become an excellent ninja after all. Above all else, he has a subtle power that somehow challenges others to overcome their problems and be better people. His lifelong dream is to become Hokage, the best ninja and leader of the village. While this is comical and ridiculous at first, eventually he shows that he has the power within him to do this. He just has a lot of growing up to do.

    Back Story:
Naruto was very young when his village was attacked by a terrible creature of incredible power. It almost wiped out his village and killed many people. In desperation, their leader sacrificed his life to seal this creature's power in the infant Naruto. He was forced to grow up as an orphan, and hated by the villagers who knew the creature was inside him. He constantly caused trouble and was one of the worst students the Ninja Academy ever saw. He lived for only himself and was always alone. When his teacher finally showed him that he cared about him, and risked his life to save Naruto, he embraced friendship instead of loneliness. As he grew, he met more friends and formed bonds that helped him and his friends grow together.

    Abilities:
Shadow Clones: When Naruto was young, he couldn't pass the Ninja Academy exam because he couldn't do the replication technique (this technique creates illusionary copies of oneself to confuse enemies). He was tricked into stealing a scroll with forbidden techniques inside. He only managed to learn one technique, Shadow Clones. This technique created multiple physical copies of himself. He turned his biggest weakness into his best ability. Now he can create decoys and summon an army of clones at any time.
Transformation Technique: This allows Naruto to transform himself or any of his clones to look just like someone or something else. While this is normally just used to spy on enemies, Naruto uses it constantly in battle to confuse the enemy. Part of what makes the show so interesting is seeing what new and surprising tricks he has up his sleeve. This technique also makes for some very interesting social situations when he impersonates various people.
Rasengan: Further in the series, Naruto learns to master the Rasengan technique. This technique belonged to the Fourth Hokage and was passed on to Naruto by the legendary Jiraya. This technique creates a focused ball of extreme energy in his hand that can blast right through almost anything. The downside is it's extremely easy to dodge, so he has to be creative to keep the enemy from evading it.
Summon Frogs: Naruto's teacher is a master of summoning giant frogs to battle for him. He passed this technique on to Naruto. Normally he can only get a tadpole or useless small frogs. When he's particularly pumped up, he can summon a giant frog taller than most buildings.
Kyuubi Power: When Naruto's emotions rise to extreme levels, the power of the Kyuubi (the creature sealed inside him) leaks out. Later in the series it can completely take control of him, sending him into a beastlike rampage. It causes huge amounts of strain on his body and can cause him to hurt his comrades as well. In return, he gets immeasurable amounts of power and can stand up against the most powerful of ninjas.

Every man dies, but few truly live. Live your life to its fullest, every day as if it were your last.
