Pit was the main character in the Kid Icarus series for the NES. He is an angel that packs a celestial bow with light arrows. The bow can break into two daggers that he wields with extreme skill. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. He's a medium weight, medium speed character but his attacks are very fast. He's pretty similar to Link in this regard. His recovery is top notch thanks to his wings, and he can glide quite a distance if you knock him off the sides.
Standard Special Mode: Palutena's Arrow
Pit has very long ranged attacks with his magical bow and arrows of light. His standard special move pulls out an arrow and readies it to fire. If you release it immediately, it will fly quickly and straight in the direction you are facing. If you hold it down, it will charge up and get bigger and more powerful. While holding the arrow, you can turn it to face up, down, or at an angle. Once the arrow has been fired, you can make it veer off to an angle if you tap in a direction at the right time. This lets you hit enemies that are at just about any angle from you.
Side Special Move: Angel Ring
This move causes Pit to clasp his blades together and spin them extremely fast into a sort of buzz saw. He will lunge forward a short distance and trap the enemy in the middle of the glowing wheel. If you tap the special button repeatedly, it will spin faster and maintain its spinning in the same place. If you can trap someone in a corner with your wheel right on top of them, they will be stuck taking repeated hits and won't be able to escape until you have them heavily damaged. This is one of my favorite moves I've encountered so far.
Up Special Move: Wings of Icarus
As if Pit didn't have enough recovery already, his up special attack gives him an extra boost of flight. His wings begin to glow and he will soar up into the air and fly for a couple seconds. This makes him extremely hard to fling off a cliff. Your best bet is usually to send him flying straight up into the air for a star KO.
Down Special Move: Mirror Shield
The mirror shield is quite useful when you are fighting against enemies that use projectiles. If you fire off your down special move, it will put up a large holy shield to bounce projectiles right back onto your enemies. It's so satisfying when you kill your opponent with their own weapon.
