    Kirby: Basic Techniques

Kirby is the main character of the Kirby series. He has been around since the Nintendo games and he's still one of the most fun characters to play. He's a happy go lucky pink squishy creature with a care free attitude and a huge stomach. While he often finds himself with the fate of the world in his hands, his real passion is putting things in his stomach. He's got a mouth that works like a vacuum cleaner and he can engulf even the biggest enemies. When he eats someone, he can absorb their powers and use them proficiently. He's great for when you just want a fun character that can take on the special moves of your foes. When I need a break from hardcore battles, I switch to him and just mess with people with his fun antics. He's a pretty well rounded character in general with very good floating recovery and light armor.

    Standard Special Move: Inhale

Kirby's main power is to inhale and swallow other characters. Aside from the total satisfaction of swallowing someone, you can also copy their powers. Press the special button and hold it until someone gets sucked into your mouth. When they are in your mouth, you can press the attack button to spit them out. This will do pretty good damage when you hit someone with another player. You can also press down when someone is in your mouth to copy their power. This will give you a nifty hat that resembles who you ate, and turn your neutral special attack into a miniature version of theirs. If you get hit too hard, you will lose their power and have to re-inhale them. You can spit up a power by using a taunt.

    Side Special Move: Hammer

Pressing side special will whip out Kirby's hammer. This time around, it has a bit more power and speed to it. This quick thrust will clock enemies and send them flying upwards. If you use it in mid air, you will spin with the hammer around you and have a wide range of damage.

    Up Special Move: Final Cutter

This up special move is the closest thing Kirby has to long range with his base powers. It will pull out his sword, flip him up into the air, do a flip at the top, then come crashing down with the sword. If it hits the ground, you will send out a shockwave that will travel some distance across the ground. This move is great as a recovery move when you need a little extra altitude. Just remember, if you miss the edge, it will send you crashing down to your death instead. If you manage to catch someone up in the motion of the sword, it will carry them up with you and slam them back down for some good damage. If someone is just at the edge of a cliff and you can hit them just right, the slam will send them straight down off the edge. Learning to master this technique is key to being good with Kirby.

    Down Special: Stone

This move is a lot of fun, though often more of a hindrance than a help. If you get above someone, you can press the down special button to turn into a stone and fall quickly down onto their heads. The only problem is, it's easy to dodge and you will be vulnerable to grabs as soon as you hit the ground. Make sure someone isn't in a position to just sidestep you and get some good hits on you. You can't be damaged while you're turned to stone, so you can use this to your advantage in avoiding dangerous situations. After a couple seconds you will turn back to Kirby automatically. Be careful as you will slide down any slopes when in stone form. If you hit a steep slope, you could just slide right down off the edge.
