Ike is the protagonist of Fire Emblem: Path
of Radiance. His moves are quite similar to those of Marth and Roy.
Like them, he has a charge-up B attack, a down-B counter technique, and
a lunging right/left B technique. However, while Marth and Roy are
more-or-less mid-weight character, Ike is definitely a heavyweight. His
physical moves fire much more slower than those of Marth or Roy, but
they have excellent power, range, and sweep. His smash attacks can deal
a fatal blow to an assailant coming from pretty much any direction, and
if you master his move timing, you will be able to strike down aerial
assailants before they can touch you.
Ike is ideal for standing his ground. He is vulnerable, however, in
that lacks long-range special attacks and has a pretty lousy recovery
move. All things considered, I highly recommend Ike for team battles or
four-player free for alls, but unless you can master his counter
technique, do not use him for duels. When using Ike, do not pursue your
enemies unless absolutely necessary. Instead, look for a highly
defensible position--prerferably one protected from horizontal ranged
attacks and open only from above---and wait. If a challenger appears,
send him or her flying with a single slash of your mighty blade.
