Mario, possibly the most famous video game character ever, is taking a break from saving the Mushroom Kingdom and making his third appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

You may have played as Mario in the previous Super Smash Bros. games, but this time, Mario takes on new moves and techniques.
Special Moves:
Mario is an well balanced character that is great for first time players. His combination of speed, power, and high jumping make him a great character.
Standard Special Move: Fireball
With this move, Mario throws out a fireball that bounces across the stage for a few seconds, then dissapears. This move can be used repeatedly, or just once. When a fireball hits an opponent, it burns him and deals some damage.

Side Special Move: Cape
This move allows Mario to reflect any move that another character uses. It also allows Mario to reflect projectiles and gain a slight height increase when in the air. Be careful, though, because your timing needs to be right in order to reflect moves.

I couldn't get a picture of Mario using his cape in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, so this is a picture of Mario in Melee. The move has not changed since Melee.
Up Special Move: Super Jump Punch
This move sends mario up high in the air. If an opponent is above Mario, then Mario hits him, knocking coins out of him, and dealing damage. This is also his main recovery move.

Another Melee picture. The move is the same in both games.
Down Special Move: F.L.U.D.D.

This is Mario's new special move. Mario pulls out F.L.U.D.D. (from Super Mario Sunshine.) Mario will charge up the move and shoot out water. This deals no damage, but it pushes enemies back.

If you are wondering what happened to the Mario Tornado...

He still has it! I am not sure how to use it, though. It might be a smash attack.
