These pictures are really good. You live in such a beautiful city. It's rare to have such lush vegetation and nearby natural surroundings in a big city like that. It reminds me of my home city.

From the sound of it, the heat is probably somewhat similar too. It has been around 90 degrees Fahrenheit off and on this summer. We recently had a series of thunderstorms that lasted about a week, and that cooled things off considerably. I must admit, I think I would much prefer the heat to blizzards any day. I feel like it's too cold any time I can't walk around in shorts and a T-Shirt.

Thanks for sharing a bit of your home with us. We all very much enjoy it.

I live just a few hours away in the North section of Florida, but the wildlife is so completely different. Places like Naples, Miami, and the Florida Keys seem to more closely resemble the Caribbean Islands in their climate and wildlife. Last time I was there I really felt like I was in Puerto Rico without having to cross an ocean. Perhaps sometime I can take a trip down South and get some good pictures of that side of Florida as well. For now I'm still trying find opportunities to photograph my home.

I have been meaning to go and visit some beautiful nature spots around my home as well. I still don't have my own camera but I may be able to borrow one to take some photos for you all. There are some places around my hometown that really capture the beauty of Florida. I hope to capture a bit of that and bring it back to Blogiversity for everyone to enjoy.

I always feel like I have been to a place when I get to see a lot of pictures of it, but it's hard to get the full effect from a traveling photographer. There's something of the culture and spirit of a place that can only be caught on film by someone who has lived there for a long time.

Once again I did some Googling and Utopia really does look like paradise. It reminds me of a place called Calloway Gardens in Georgia. This is where my parents went on their honeymoon and we visit there from time to time.

I completely understand about being busy. With all the business around us, it's hard to find the time to blog. I heard there was a major Jewish holiday coming up soon as well. I went to a Seder dinner with my Jewish friends and I really enjoyed it. It was so moving to be part of such a rich culture's traditions. It really amazed me the deeper meanings behind all the traditions we witnessed. Also the food was delicious and the people were so friendly. We ended up staying up talking to them until about midnight (on a work night). I would love to hear about some of the other traditions in your culture when you get a chance to write again. We will be eagerly awaiting your next post. Until then, Shalom.

Tallahassee looks real nice. Never been there.

We never really took pictures of Tel Aviv, but rather only the area of the park where we live. But we did take a lot of photos of different parks, lakes, and areas we visited.

A few days ago we went to a place called "Utopia" near Netanya. It was really like paradise, with beautiful indoor and outdoor gardens. They really did a great job with it.

We're real busy now, but soon I hope we can start filling the gallery you set up for us.

Thanks again,

And we agree, of course, about nature soothing the soul. Since we both, as a couple, like nature very much, we've been out there searching for it all over the country. Still lots more to see ...

You can write a little about the pictures and turn each into a sort of mini blog post. You can see the current photo galleries in the "Photos" tab at the top of the page. I have posted a few photos in my gallery of Tallahassee Florida, where I live.

I created a photo gallery for you. Let me know if you want me to change the name of it. You will be the only one allowed to post in your gallery. You can access it here: www.blogiversity.org/.../default.aspx

If you would like to go through a quick tutorial on how to use the photo galleries, head to the Blogiversity Help forums here:

If you have any questions, I'm always happy to help. I'm really looking forward to seeing your pictures. I will try to post more pictures of my home town when I get a chance.

I would love to see more. I used to love going to the park and just laying out in the grass on a warm summer day. There is something so peaceful about nature that really soothes the soul. We have such good weather here in Tallahassee, especially during the spring. I have lived here all my life but I still never tire of the natural beauty around me.

You have to be careful feeding the ducks around here. There are sometimes geese mixed in with them and they can be very aggressive. I have seen them chasing small children around until they finally dropped their bread and ran.

I looked at some pictures of Tel Aviv and was amazed to see what a vibrant and big city it is. It looks much like some of the bigger cities we have in America in a lot of ways.

Would you be interested in posting some pictures of your city on a photo gallery on Blogiversity? I can set one up for you if you would like. I would personally love to see more photos. I hope to post some pictures taken around my city as well.

While we have a similar holiday here in America, so few of us really take the time to really honor those who died to make us free. It seems so many Americans live in the present and not enough look back to the past. We could learn a lot from your people.

As far as travel to Israel, I hope to go there someday. The people, culture, history, and geography of your country have always interested me and I hope to see it for myself someday.

I have always been fascinated by Jewish culture and traditions. I have some friends who sometimes invite us over to share in some of their traditions, and it is always a very enlightening experience. I would love to hear more about your culture from someone actually living in Israel.

We're heading into Memorial Day weekend, our first long weekend of 2008. Typically it's a day of picnics, softball games and beach outings.

Somewhere in there we're supposed to pause to remember men and women who died during military service, but few people get that far anymore.

I'm raising a little boy, so I'll make an effort to clue him in to the REAL meaning of Memorial Day. A lot of this has gotten lost in all the long years since WWII, but when I was a kid there was always a big parade and we always decorated soldiers' graves. In fact it used to be called Decoration Day.

Note to self-righteous self: Must check for local parade and buy new American flag.

re: Second ...

That sounds like quite an event. I have never been to an air show myself but they look like a lot of fun. I'm sorry to hear the parachuter landed in the crowd.

I looked up Yarkon Park online and it really looks beautiful. It looks just like some of the parks around my hometown. I never realized Israel had such lush greenery. It must be great to live close to such a beautiful place.

Is Chinese food popular there? It is extremely popular here. There are Chinese restaurants all over town. I love eating Chinese food when I get the chance.
