Tilt-shift is technique where you use a specific type of lens to blur the surroundings of an object in order to make it look like a miniature model. It's a cool effect and fun to play with. The iphone has a little application that allows you to emulate this by applying a filter to the photos you have taken to achieve the miniature effect. I have some samples of some that i did but I'm afraid that they aren't that good.

Okay so this is a screen shot of the app. The Pics button allows you to select a picture to work on and the save, saves the image to your camera roll when your done with it. The other buttons are different ways of viewing the select tool. The goal is to place the circle over the object you want to appear miniature. you can change the shape to the parallel lines as well to get a different effect. The Bar at the bottom controls the amount of blur that is applied to the photo.

Okay so I'm not good at this and Maybe it's not the best picture to do this one but I think you get the point.

Okay this is really what you are going for.It helps if the photo has objects that are big but are small in the picture. The effect makes it look really cool.
