I was updating my iphone apps and discovered there was a new update for Skype. I looked at the release notes and you can now place free Skype-to-Skype calls on the 3G network. AT&T Allowing VoIP over 3G network for iPhone

This is big news on October 6, AT&T announced that they are going to allows applications like Skype use the 3G network for VoIP calls. This is a huge deal because this means you can place free calls from your phone wherever you have a 3G connection. Mac just got a new version of Skype that has a couple new features. You can now share your desktop with the person your chatting with. So Skype is releasing an iphone application to do skype IM and Skype calls. The iPhone app hits Tuesday march 31st. It allows you to chat with your Skype friends as well as call them using skypes VOIP connection. You have to be on WiFi however to be able to use the application.
