Firefox Plugin Counts Characters Left in Facebook Status

I'm not sure if you are aware but there is a limit to how many characters your Facebook status can be. You have 420 characters to say what you need to say which most of the time is enough. There is that rare occasion, for me at least, that I have a lot to say and right when you go to post the statue you get that annoying message saying your statues is too long. Well how long can it be? How many characters am I over by?

Facebook leaves you blind as to how close you are to the limit and how much you need to shorten it. This causes frustration as you try and short it little by little to get it to post. I often give up and rewrite my status into a single sentence which wasn't as good as the previous full version.

Well with Facebook Status Counter plugin for Firefox you won't run into this problem again. All it does is give you a countdown under the status box so you know when you are about to go over the status limit. As some people have pointed out in the Lifehacker article Better Facebook has had this feature for some time, but they also jack up Facebook's interface which this plugin doesn't do.
