Monopoly City Streets - Global Internet Board Game
Monopoly is rollout with a global Internet based board game of monopoly tomorrow September 9, 2009. The whole world is on the board game with Google maps as the backdrop. You can purchase streets and build houses and other structures on them. You can play against the whole world and with friends. You can even place roadblocks and other obstacles on the friend’s streets to hinder them.
I think this is going to be huge and a lot of fun. I am not sure how the rules are going to pan out and how it is actually going to work, but I’m sure it’s going to be fun. I wonder if the game will be played all in one sitting or if it will be played over several days or even weeks.
Monopoly has setup a Blog and a teaser site that explains some of what is involved with the game but not a lot is known right now. I will try and keep you posted on the rules and how it is played should be interesting to see what happens.

Okay so the game has started today and and seems you have four months to gain as much property and build buildings as you can. You start with 3Million in monopoly money and you can purchase any street you can get your hands on as long as no one has it already. If someone has a street you want you can try and buy it off them by making them an offer.
The monopolycitystreets.com website is down and will not load at least for me, and according to their blog their servers are on fire trying to get everyone registered. I think they took it down to prevent more people from jumping on the system.

I am on the site now I just can't buy anything. Their servers are down now according to a pop-up it keep getting from the website. Who knows when they are going to get them back up and running. You can't register and get a login until your ready to buy a property so I am SOL on the internet monopoly front.
