Jon and Kate Plus 8 – What do you Think?

Okay so it’s been all over the newspapers, tabloids, and the Internet that Jon and Kate Gosselin are getting a divorce. The very popular show Jon and Kate plus 8 is a TLC show that follows the couple around as they try and care for their eight kids. The drama started when a celebrity magazine printed a story claiming that Jon had cheated on his wife. Jon of course denied allegations of cheating but what really happened will probably never be known.

Well it didn’t help Jon’s claim about the allegations when a couple months after the celebrity magazine’s article was published TLC started running commercials implying that Jon and Kate were in fact splitting up. When all the scandals and rumors of the separation were circulating Jon and Kate plus 8 went from 4.6 million at the end of season 4 to 9.8 million. When the one hour special aired, the episode where they were going to confirm the separation, the show was being watched by an audience of 10.6 million people.

After all the drama of the split the episode following the special was only viewed by 2.9 million. This I feel is people trying to say that they don’t want to watch two people get a divorce with eight kids. They don’t want to see two people argue and be unhappy. Many people have that in their own life and don’t need a reminder. The interesting thing is they want to continue doing the show. TLS has no intent to change the name of the show and they are going to continue shooting the show but just separately. I think this is really sad and I don’t know if people are still going to watch it.

My question to you who are reading this is, what did they do wrong? Do you think Jon cheated? Or do you think Kate is just too much of a control freak and bosses Jon around too much. I tend to wonder is all the money and the time spent making the show was too much and they couldn’t handle it. From what I hear Kate was the one that wanted to do the show not Jon. Kate was also the one that wanted more children and Jon really didn’t want any more. Seems as if Kate is a really controlling person and tends to get what she wants. Is this what broke them up?

I think the mistake they made was sacrificing their family to make money. They put the TV show first and let it turn them into monsters. I hope people stop watching the show because I don’t think what they did to those kids is right.
