I recently picked up one of these guys from Newegg.com for $20 bucks. Let me tell you it was worth every penny. This thing works great I love it.  The Drive and Play by Harman Kardon is an ipod interface that allows you to control your iPod through the controller and display.

The Display
The display emulates the iPod screen so you can navigate it just like you would your iPod. The Display also makes use of a backlight to make it easier to operate in the dark or during the day. You can change the setting on the display to show big fonts or backlight sleep setting among other things.

The Controller
The controller has 5 buttons on it one on each side and one in the middle. The outside ring rotates and controls the scrolling when you’re trying to navigate the menus. The outer ring lights up in the dark and goes off when you have the backlight set to turn off after 10 seconds.

Audio Out

With this device you have two options when it comes to getting the sound into your stereo. #1 you could install a wired FM modulator that delivers a crystal clear sound directly into the antenna of the car. #2 you can use the built in wireless FM modulator that is not as good but could work well if you’re not traveling large distances. Option #1 would be ideal if you don’t already have an audio input into your car stereo. It is however more setup to do it this way but it’s worth it when you get it right. Option #2 is great because you don’t have to do anything just turn your radio into the station the modulator is set to and you're ready to go. The down side is that depending on where you are you might experience some interference.

My opinion
Go with the wired FM modulator they sell one that goes with this setup for 10 bucks and its totally worth it. Don’t play around trying to find a station with little or no interferance.

This setup on the box says that it works with iPod video and iPod classic but when you get into the instructions it works with older iPods and nanos and minis.

Here is a picture of it in my car playing a little Weezer.

Just in case you were wondering how all the wiring is setup here is the schematic of the setup.
