The Dino 5 Unbelieveable - Cartoon Rap show for kids
Friday, October 31, 2008 9:23 AM

The Dino 5 is a cartoon rap show for kids. This is what I was able to dig up on it from Wikipedia.

Dino 5 is a hip hop supergroup featuring Prince Paul, Chali 2na from Jurassic 5, Scratch from The Roots, Wordsworth and Lady Bug Mecca from Digable Planets.[1] Their album is a concept hip hop album for children, though it can be listened to by adults as well. The Dino 5 has also been optioned for a cartoon series and Grammy-winning poet Ursula Rucker narrates its audio book.[2] Their debut album was released April 1, 2008 and features members of De La Soul.

so go see their website at dino5.com

Google Earth App for iPhone
Thursday, October 30, 2008 4:18 PM

Google Earth just came out for the iPhone and I have to say that its pretty cool. The controls are really cool allowing you to zoom and and out as well as pan around the globe. Using the iphones duel touch screen you can turn and rotate the pictures. The cool thing about it is that you can use the GPS to locate yourself on the globe. The application has a search feature that allows you to serch for certain locations. Pretty cool application check for your iPhone today.

What are people thinking?
Wednesday, October 29, 2008 3:03 PM

So I like to take screen shots of things on web that make me laugh. Now I am not the best writer in fact I think that I am a really bad writer, but having said that I think that even I would have been ashamed of some of the stuff I've seen on the internet. This example comes from a blog that I was checking out and It's just so shotty.

The name of the blog is "Childrens Corner". Okay I get that it's the children's corner, I guess they just forgot the apostrophe. That's fine, but then the subtitle of the blog is "Play with your childrens". This is where the communication begins to fail. You have one child you have many children. So Children is the Plural form already so this must be the possessive form. So the blogger wants you to play with your children's WHAT!

DUMB

Now this just gets on my nerves. Why in the would would you have a post that has its code sticking out like this. Its like a parent sending its child out to school without pants on. You can't let your little buddy hang out life that. You got to keep that stuff to yourself. No one wants your code flopping around all over the website like that.

Finally if your going to use php or some other coding language don't let the errors show. turn them off so that when your website is live people can't see them. PLEASE.

Why do Businesses Send Out Bills to People for less than a Dollar.
Tuesday, October 28, 2008 9:40 AM

My wife got a bill in the mail from her old apartment complex for 34 cents. Now why in the world would you spent 42 cents on a stamp or postage to send a bill to someone for less money then the bill. I mean I guess if you never collected the bills that were less than a stamp then it could add up, but the if you do the simple math you are loosing money. The kicker is that now you have to send them a check in the mail that costs you 42 cents to mail. I just think its funny that a company would spend the time to collect that little bit of money. The only reason that I see that being logical is if you billed people just to make the books balanced.

Netflix coming to xBox Live Gold members for free
Tuesday, October 21, 2008 5:25 PM

So it shouldn't be long before Netflix releases there instant watch to Xbox Gold members. This new relationship between Netflix and Xbox will allow Xbox Gold members to stream and watch instantly all the content on the netflix's instant watch section of their website. This will be great for the Xbox gold members that don't have Netflix.

Apparently you don't have to have a Netflix subscription to get the instant watch. If you a Silver Member it means that you can't play the multi-player games online but you can get to all the market place features. The Silver membership is free so thats why you don't get the instant watch.

The xbox will be the first console gaming system that will be able to stream that many of movies over the internet for its uses. I think that xbox will find that its sales of the Gold membership will increase after the release of the software. The software will show up as a software update for your xbox so it should download automatically.

Stripper hits man with shoe and gets sued
Friday, October 17, 2008 2:11 PM

Pompano beach florida at the local Booby trap strip club a stripper accidentally flung off her shoe hitting a mirrored ceiling shattering it. The man who was unfortunately sitting under the mirror was injured by all the falling shards and the shoe. The man is now suing the booby trap for 15,000 for his alleged injuries. The man is claiming that he had eyebrow lacerations and is now plagued by nosebleeds and headaches. According to the owner of the strip club the amount that the man is suing for is way too high for what happened and when the paramedics showed up they were wondering why they were called out.

This sounds just like South Florida to me. I lived there for 12 years and things like this should surprise me but the y really don't anymore. People down there are always suing each other for all kinds of stupid things, and I am sure that the lawyers are more than happy to oblige. The last thing that I am going to say is don't you think that a securely fastened shoe would be a must for a stripper.

Starbucks Signature Hot Chocolate - all NEW and Delicious
Wednesday, October 15, 2008 5:44 PM

Starbucks Signature Hot chocolate

I went into "My Starbucks" the other day was was greeted by all of my Starbucks friends. I hot my usual 4 shots of espresso over ice and then was asked if I wanted to try their new signature hot chocolate. I said of course I would and they gave me a little sample size of their new hot drink. I have to say I think that the new hot chocolate drinks are great and that they have a great flavor. I had the Salted caramel hot chocolate which at first sounds weird but its actually really good. you should go your local Starbucks and try them.

Here are the three different kinds.

Salted Caramel Signature Hot Chocolate

This delicious sweet and salty combination brings together our rich, indulgent Signature Hot Chocolate and the flavors of buttery caramel and smoked sea salt. It is topped with whipped cream, a swirl of caramel and a sprinkle of our sea salt topping - a combination of artisan sea salt and Turbinado sugar from Hawaii.

Hazelnut Signature Hot Chocolate

We’ve accented our rich, creamy European-style Signature Hot Chocolate with hazelnut syrup to create a classic chocolate and nut flavor combination. It is topped with fresh whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Signature Hot Chocolate

Starbucks Signature Hot Chocolate is a rich, creamy European-style hot chocolate made with our signature blend of four cocoas. This sophisticated hot chocolate is pure indulgence, made with no artificial ingredients - just four distinctive cocoas, sugar, natural vanilla extract, and milk! It is topped with fresh whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.

Bottled Water Friend or Foe
Tuesday, October 14, 2008 2:42 PM

Bottled water is it really as good as everyone says it is. I think that buying bottled water is kind of crazy but having said that I understand why people do it. Its the most abundant resource of the face of the planet but they bottle it and sell it. I was reading an article about whether or not bottled water was safer to drink than tap water.

They made the argument that you are more likely to know what is in your tap water than you would bottled water. The water tap water supple is held to higher standards and are regulated more strictly than that of bottled waters.Another point that they made was that bottled water and tap water come from the same place.

The article also made the point that your bottled water's plastic container is made of PET or polyethylene terephthalate. They say that it can actually leach chemicals into the water. At room temperature this happens very slowly but in the microwave or heated in the sun the reaction happens much quicker.

I see their point that people stop drinking tap water because they think that its unsafe. I get it tap water is safe and its regulated. I get it but tap water just tastes so bad. I hate the taste of it I can't stand it. I drink tap water I just pass it through one of those filters like breta or pure. So what a learned from the article is that Tap water is okay to drink and bottled water is okay as long as it doesn't sit in the sun for a long time allowing the chemicals from the plastic to leach in. I like bottled water and I'm not going to stop drinking it but I have to say that this article did make me feel better about tap water.

Mother seduced by a 14 year old boy
Tuesday, October 14, 2008 10:35 AM

Sharon Edwards was seduced by a 14 year old boy, a boy that her 2 sons go to school with. Sharon's husband suspected that something was going on with the two when he saw how many text messages they were sending back and forth. When he asked her about it she said that they were just having a laugh. After looking at some of her MSN messages he discovered that her lover was a minor and went to school with his sons. The husband then called the boy's mother who then called the police.

So after all the investigations it turns out that they had sex 4 times between September 2007 and January 2008. In one of the messages the boy asked Mrs. Edwards to buy him cocaine and she told him that she didn't need money for it. I guess to her defense he was 6'1" and was pretty  mature for is age, but that doesn't mean that you sleep with him and buy him cocaine. Sharon Edwards pleaded guilty to four accounts of sexual activity with a child and supplying a Class A drug.

What is the world coming to. I don't care how bad your relationship is with your husband why couldn't she just have an old fashion affair with an adult. Younger kids have crushes on adults all the time but this doesn't mean that the adult should act on it. She should have been the adult and rejected him. Of course she must not of been the most responsible woman in the world seeing how she knows how to buy cocaine and probably takes it herself. People never cease to amaze me.

AT&T starting new high speed internet and video services called U-Verse
Monday, October 13, 2008 10:32 AM

AT&T are starting a new high speed internet and video service called U-verse. AT&T's new services offer high speed internet as well as 100% pure digital cable, and they also offer home phone services. I think that this could really be a good thing for AT&T who has watched as many people get rid of their home phone services. They has to come up with a way to provide a service that everyone will want to need.

    Video services

I was watching a video on their video services and I have to sat that I liked what I saw. I really think they thought it out and that they are trying to go the extra mile with the features. One of my favorite features of the U-verse video services is the fact that you can watch your recorded DVR footage from any set thats connected to the video services. You can also recored up to 4 different programs at the same time and watch them at the same time one different sets. I know with Comcast you have to have all the TVs hooked up to a box in each room and even then you can record and watch that many programs at once. The video services are HD ready and have DVRs built into them. The service also offers on demand video playback which is great if you want to watch a show or movie right now and you didn't record it.

   Internet services

The AT&T internet plans are as fallows. Its nice to see that they plans as high as 10Mbps. This is something that is important in order to compete with someone like Comcast that offers internet at that speed.

Ideal for: Express
Downstream up to
1.5 Mbps
Upstream up to
1 Mbps
Pro
Downstream up to
3 Mbps
Upstream up to
1 Mbps
Elite
Downstream up to
6 Mbps
Upstream up to
1 Mbps
Max
Downstream up to
10 Mbps
Upstream up to
1.5 Mbps
Emailing X X X X
Downloading Music X X X X
Sharing Photos   X X X
Internet gaming     X X
Online Conferencing     X X

They also have voice services as well but I feel that these services are pretty standard and that they are offering them to have a complete package. I feel that this is a way sell home phone services to their customers even though many people don't really need it. I haven't had one for years and I don't ever see myself getting one. I have a cell phone and thats all I really need.

According to Reuters.com AT&T is planning on selling the U-verse services at Wal-Mart and Circuit City. They plan to have U-verse in more than 1 million homes by the end of the year and are planning on expanding the network. They want to see more then 30 million by the end of 2010.

Why is it other people's food tastes better?
Thursday, October 09, 2008 10:10 AM

Why is it that when someone else makes something for you that it always taste better then if you made it yourself. I had someone make me a toasted peanut butter sandwich this morning and it was great. Every time I go over to someone's house and they make you dinner it always taste better then when you make it at home. I think this is the case because you don't have to spend all that time making something and the flavors that you taste when you eat it don't surprise you because you know whats in it. Food that has a surprise flavor and intriguing textures are the foods that taste the best.

Election Day Dirty tricks
Wednesday, October 08, 2008 9:37 AM

I had no idea that there were so many scams that are tied to elections and voting. I was reading an article on ABC's website about election scandals and how people try and scam people out of voting on election day. I had no idea that this kind of thing was done to people. According to ABC's website there was one such incident that happened at Drexel University where a student sent out flyers saying that undercover cops were going to be patrolling polling locations to catch people that have any outstanding warrants and arrest them.

This is called voter suppression its a strategy to scare, anger, or confuse voters into not voting and staying home on election day and its illegal. I am all for running a competitive campaign but trying to scare people into not voting by confusing them or tricking them is just plain wrong. One of the other techniques used is called push-polling. Its designed as a phone poll but its used to push negative information about the candidates. Other people try to convince people that the election day has changed by leaving official sounding messages in hopes that people will show up on the wrong day. Scammers have also left people messages saying that their polling location has changed in hopes that they will go to the wrong place and get frustrated and not vote.

I think that this kind of voter suppression is despicable and should be stopped. I don't think however that its wrong to point out the other candidates major follies because I think that if a candidate has some major skeletons in their closest that someone should let them out to make sure that you want to cast your vote for them. I don't think however that this should be used to prevent the voter from voting. I really do hate smear campaigns I don't think that they really help people maintain unity in the US.

Does a bad economy make people more healthy?
Tuesday, October 07, 2008 10:57 AM

I was reading a really interesting article in the New York Times today about the how when the Economy goes into a recession that the over all heath of people gets better. I know that it sounds a little backwards if you think about it. If you have a booming economy people tend not to exorcise as much and tend not to cook for themselves and depend on fatty meals from restaurants. They tend not to do these things because of the time constraints of work.

When the economy gets bad people tend to take notice of time and spend it better. Its not that people have more time in times of economic crisis just that they don't take it for granted like they did when the Economy was better. The article in the New York Times compared it to the coffee prices in Colombia. When the price of coffee goes up people start working harder and spending more time tending to their plants. Where as when the price is down people tend to spend less time with the plants and crop and focus more on their kids and themselves. The article also made the point that the death rate actually went up during good economic time and down during times of bad times. Which is the opposite than what you would think.

I think that its interesting that even in times of crisis that something good can come out of it. I think that everyone needs to stop for a second and think what is really important to them. Does having a lot of money really make you happy? Is it times of financial crisis that people try and find something else to trust in and make them feel complete. May it be money of getting yourself healthy and in shape again is that what people need to feel better about themselves. I think that people in financial crisis can't feel secure in their money so they seek to feel secure in something, and because they can't afford to drink anymore perhaps they will concentrate on more important things than money.

Thats the way that I see it.

heres the article:   http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/07/health/07well.html?_r=2&8dpc&oref=slogin&oref=slogin
