The Rant

Elton

Wednesday night I received a call from a friend offering Elton John tickets for a show at our local civic center.  It was really a last minute thing.  I had no idea that Elton had rescheduled to play in Tallahassee.  I believe he canceled his last performance due to illness.  So I did some scrambling and I was able to get a babysitter which has proven pretty hard to do even with notice.  I think my son is an angel but then I am his dad;)

The concert was AMAZING.  Elton ROCKs!!!  His talent, showmanship, skill are unmatched in any concert I have attended.  No he doesn't do flips or bite the head off a bat, but he really is a force of nature when it comes to his voice and piano playing.  I am very very grateful to have been able to go to see him.  There is one more thing about Elton that makes him special and different.  He is very humble and generous.  He signed autographs on stage and when the audience called for him after minutes, he and his very talented band reappeared in different more casual attire as if they were ready to go home. To me this really showed that he cared about the audience enough to provide an extra level of detail that I have not seen before.   The show raged for three hours and the list of songs was formidable.  There is a lot more to say about his show and him personally but I am not eloquent enough to do him justice.

I'm glad you got a chance to go to the concert. It's those last minute surprises that really spice up a life. It sounds like a really great show. I haven't heard much of his music but I like what I have heard. Somehow I can't quite picture Elton John doing flips on stage.

I could totally see him doing flips on stage... My dad is old and he does the moon walk around the house... it's surprising to see what old people can do when they put their mind to it.

That was just plain mean! I'm so sorry you were born too late to enjoy Elton's early stuff, Koala.

Rant moon walks? Wow. I'm surprised he's old enough to moon walk. I never could do it myself, but I did learn the Electric Glide recently!

Oh my, that "flip" comment really got you going Koala.  I am leaving out "Crazy" becuase it's a bit redundant;) Everyone knows Koalas are crazy, especially that one you have!  Anyway Elton could do flips if he wanted to, I am pretty sure he could flip circles around any of your young silly friends:)

Well because i am too young I agree with Koala Elton is someone

that I heard of a long time ago I can 't really remember at this point I guess people like us(Koala and myself)  can't relate too well  to old folks  there is something bothersome about their being too slow and out of touch with reality

Clearly Paul Carson and I are on the same page. You can't even handle our young witty selves.
