Jun 19, 2007 Chronic Pain
People suffering from chronic pain go through more than just the pain itself. They contend with anxiety and depression as well as with the pain medication(prescribed) side effects.
Yoga 90 minutes sessions three times a week for four weeks combined with meditative breathing exercises known as Pranayam (with different yoga poses) can have a very positive effect on chronic pain.
I suffer regularly from intense low back pain and yoga has helped enormously to improve my situation, I highly recommend specially the Pranayam exercises as tool in order to abate pain.

Laughter is the best medicine
Humor’s effect on healthy immune systems is remarkably positive and yet we don’t practice this art as often as we should. Studies support laughter positive physiological consequences indicating that its rewards help us maintain a good homeostatic balance and a better quality of life.
The extent of laughter’s healing potential still unclear although we know of its positive impact on health in general. On the other hand researchers have yet to find that humor has any harmful side effects. So taking time to look at life’s events from a humorous perspective each day may keep us laughing a little longer and experiencing a better state of health.

Trying to keep tears or rage under wraps can be emotionally taxing. It takes a lot out of the body too. We may suppress certain thoughts to ignore negative feelings or to be fact full to others, but this takes a toll on our immune function.
Keeping thoughts bottled up lowers levels of infection fighting lymphocytes and makes us more susceptible to illness.
Those who control their feelings also experienced lower levels of lymphocytes in general, as well as reduced levels of other types of infection fighting cells.
