Update: The Kids and The Car

I received a call from the police department. They were following up on the accident we had at school and are asking for an estimate of the damage done to my care. They said that they "are looking at the guy" that hit my car. Is he in custody? Well, no, because I have seen him twice at the school since the dreaded day. He is an older man and backs out of his parking space like a mad man each morning before school. I have not approached him, just have watched him drive by. He almost hit another car at the school the other day, so I hope the police have told him to watch himself. Maybe they won't actually contact him until I tell them how much it will cost to fix my car. I hope to get to my dealer today to get that estimate. I'm sure glad this was taken care of though. I kind of thought he was just some jerk who wasn't watching what he was doing, but now that I have seen him, I feel differently about the accident. Maybe he drove off scared? Maybe he didn't realize he had hit someone? or maybe he was a jerk that thought he could get away with it because of his age. Who knows? Maybe he has gotten away with it several times. Anyway, thanks to the kind man who got the tag number. I see that same tag quite often now, completely unknown to the driver...

Only two more weeks of school. Maybe he won't hit anymore cars or run over any kids before summer. I guess I'd feel differently if he did a hit and run in the mall parking lot, but if he's driving like a madman in the school lot, I hope the cops pick him up!

Well, I'm glad you found him anyway. I'm sure they will get it straightened out for you. Even if he didn't mean to or was just scared, he still needs to pay for those repairs. Hopefully they will take care of it for you and you won't have to deal with him too much. And Hopefully he won't be smashing into people and running off like that.

I hope he pays for the damages willingly. If you have to have your insurance company go after him, you'll be making more blogs on the insurance updates. What a headache!
