Stamp Prices are Going Up

Well, along with gas prices, grocery prices and everything else, postal rates are increasing soon.

It will soon cost 42 cents to send a first class letter, so use those 41 cent stamps before May 12th! You might want to look into buying "Forever Stamps" which retain their value whenever you use them.

if only forever stamps came with a selection of styles!  i always try to avoid the plain looking stamps and buy the ones with a little pizazz. currently i'm using a set called "pollinators" that include a bat, a bee, a bird and something else (can't remember), with blossoms in the backgrounds.

Considering I use about 3 stamps a month, I think I can handle the extra penny without too much distress. The problem is, it's not just the stamp prices going up. It seems like a lot of essentials are going up in prices, and that's not just normal inflation. I just hope the gas prices slow down soon before our whole economy suffers. If people are forced to stop using their cars because they can't afford gas anymore, we're going to have some serious problems.

Thank goodness for email and online bill pay. You can even fax long-distance cheaper than you can send a letter. I still send out birthday cards to nieces and nephews, but a few times I've send gift certificates to them through email as well.
