WHO IN THE WORLD CREATED DORA THE EXPLORER?

 

I am not sure how you can tell what children will like and what they won’t when you create a children's show, but this Dora is a hit! My child has not watched Dora on TV in almost a year, and yet she loves anything with Dora on it. The bedspread, lunch box, any doll, shoes, etc. I think that it’s great there is a choice other than the Disney Princesses, Hello Kitty or Strawberry Shortcake, but this little girl says the same stuff every episode and if I have to “say backpack, say backpack”  one more time, I think I will scream!

And WOW is that kid LOUD. I'll hand it to her, she is always outside and allowed to use her outside voice, but she doesn't have to yell every word she says. I would blame TV for my 7 year old sister's loud conversation style, but I think she was just born with a huge voice.

And what's up with that fox? He's the nicest villain I have ever seen. And he's so courteous. When he gets caught, all they have to do is tell him not to steal their stuff and he sadly gives up. He must have really low self esteem.

I actually find it entertaining, and what really amazes me is how much spanish my sister learned from the show. Sure it's one of the most annoying kids show ever created, but it's actually pretty educational.

Also... I don't know who dresses Dora in the morning but I have some complaints.

1) get her some clothes that fit (cover her stomach)

2) get her some clothes that match... Pink and Orange do NOT go well together

3) those clothes are not very flattering... period.

Oh! Has anyone seen the new Kids show that teaches kids chinese? It's called "Ni Hao, Kai-Lan".  It's pretty much just like Dora except everything is Chinese. I like this A LOT more than Dora.. not to mention.... she has cute clothes!

If you see ants coming on the right then go left. Screw the colors and just run. My baby sister will be 10 this year and she really hates dora. The only thing she has of Dora is a sticky toy that sticks to any hard surface. She likes throwing it at the wall

While I can't advocate the idea of throwing Dora at a wall to stop the noise... there have been days when my sister watched that show over and over and over and over... I can see why your sister does it.

Haven't you read the billboards that used to be all over town? NEVER shake a baby (or small child). After all their efforts to raise baby shaking awareness, we should all know better. Thank goodness we have those public service campaigns that save us from so many would be baby shakings.
