PONDERINGS

Childhood memory

When I was really little I had this HUGE stuffed dog with long black and white hair.

I would comb him and sit on him and pretty much take him EVERYWHERE. I absolutely adored this toy. And as everyone knows... toys that are adored by little kids get very dirty. So, naturally, my dad went to get the dog cleaned.. problem was, the hair came out and instead of looong hair for me to comb.. it was short. :'(

Thinking I wasn't going to notice, he came walking through the door with my demolished dog... and I noticed immediately! I was SOOOO upset.. Ever since then, he has been giving me toys that either resemble the dog, or are just plain big like the dog. But he'll never be able to replace him... not EVER!

*HUMPH!*

This is my collection of dogs...

My sister used to always sit on the dog... but he was a real dog. She would jump on his back and ride him like a horse. My dad had to hold onto her to keep her steady, and the dog would run all over and give her pony rides. The only problem was, he got tired of her happy squeals and laughter really quickly. When he was through being ridden, he would try to run off. If that didn't work, he would charge right at a wall and stop suddenly trying to buck my sister off. My dad was good at catching her and swinging her up into his arms before she could notice anything.

Oh wow! That's so funny. What's the best part is she's going to grow up thinking that your dog liked it when she would ride on his back.

I'm glad my dog couldn't move. :)
