What's your favorite classic computer game?

Tetris is one of my favs! Along with snood. I remember for a while my mom and I would play tetris and when ever we beat each others score we would print it out and hang it up on the bulletin board. It was SO addicting and I don't think I have ever been more competitive.

 What's your favorite?

I used to LOVE tetris when I was younger. I played it on demo at the mall whenever my family went there. I got to skip the rest of the boring shopping and enjoy building block bliss.

One thing I love about my Xbox360 is it lets me download any of those classic arcade games for really low prices. I have Pac Man on there. I know it's not the same experience, but I much prefer my nice living room and big screen to a noisy arcade.

Tetris was one of my favorites, and also a game like Tetris but with 3-dimensional shapes (I can't recall the name). I also loved Tempest, Arkonoid, and Q-Bert.

Whoa Blogette, might you be referring to Tetrisphere? It was on Nintendo 64 and it was one of my favorite games of all time. You had a 3D sphere with Tetris pieces on it. You would move them around and line them up, then drop a piece into the mix to break them all off. You peeled away the pieces like an onion to make a hole in the core big enough to let a little robot get out. It was incredibly fun and addictive. It also required you to think about as fast as you could see. I actually noticed my math speed going up after playing it a lot. Not all video games rot the mind.

Anyone remember Frogger? It makes me giggle when I think of it now, but I think I took it pretty seriously as a child.

Everytime I have to cross a street with many lanes, I'm reminded of Frogger. So far I've managed to cross the street better than I played the game.

Oh yeah full contact Frogger. It's more fun, but you get no extra lives. And it can cost an awful lot more if you get a game over.

I'm also a big fan of Pac-Man and Tetris. I also like Snake. But my absolute favorite old console arcade game was probably Gunsmoke for NES.

In Gunsmoke, you're an 8-bit cowboy passing through rough towns and shooting constant streams of bullets while dodging constant streams of returning fire from countless enemies. You have to always be on your guard because the enemies ambush you and use a variety of weapons. What's really cool about the game is that you can buy weapons of your choice using money you earn by collecting items and taking out criminals. There is one really annoying thing about Gunsmoke, though. The level constantly scrolls forward, and if you don't get enough points by the end of each level, even if you're 1 point short of the quota, you have to endure the whole level all over again.
