Maclay Gardens
Beautiful blooming Dogwoods and Azaleas have been seen at one of Florida's most well known state park, Maclay Gardens. Known for its spectacular floral arrangements along it's wide brick paths, Maclay Gardens has been one best places to go during the spring. This is the perfect time to visit the Gardens and also the Maclay House, which is open from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon all through April. Of course, there is much more to do while visiting the Gardens. The Warm weather has graciously permitted activities at the picnic and recreation area to flourish. Families picnic while enjoying the crew shells row on the serene waters of Lake Hall. People enjoy the day by fishing on the lake while others take advantage of good weather and kayak or canoe.
I absolutely love the Gardens. Just a couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to go with a couple friends and fly kites. The wind was perfect and the weather was gorgeous! Being on the crew team, I went to Lake Hall to row. When we weren't doing drills or being yelled at by our coach it was so relaxing to just lean back on shoes of the person behind me, close my eyes and listen to the birds. It's truly one of the best parts of Tallahassee. And for those who are from here, you know just how hard it is to find a decent place to go in the Capitol city.
Admission Fees are relatively low with the Garden Entry being 4 dollars per adult and 2 per child. This is only for the peak blooming time which occurs January through April.
Other times of the year you can enjoy the gardens for only 4 dollars per vehicle as long as the number of people doesn't exceed 8.
