Google Mapping

Do you think that you know a lot about the place where you live?  Are you familar with local businesses, crazy sidestreets, and all those one-way thoroughfares in your town or city.  If you answered yes to any of these questions that I've just asked, you could possibly find a way to make some money from internet mogul Google.  I happened to be browsing around the internet today and hitting up one of the many business-related news subsections that I frequent each day when I noticed a new featured blog on one of the sites.  I was surprised to find a business blog at all since most of the news websites tend to reserve blogging for reporters and interviewers out in the field in one of the many war zones that we all know so well of around the world.  I thought that it would be worth it to check out, and I'm very glad I decided to do so.  The first and most recent post on the Utility Belt blog that I found there was all about how Google is looking to find web searches (a.k.a. their clients I suppose) to become subcontracted employees to help them expand their popular Google Map application.  These subcontracted employees would obviously be in paid positions to expand upon information geared specifically to their particular town, city, or locality.  This is really the best kind of business venture to get yourself involved in if you ask me.  I know that a lot of people have gotten out there working for one of more dot com businesses trying to make a few bucks.  Sure, a lot of people have been successful, but a lot of the smaller dot com businesses and even related businesses have to contend with a constant struggle.  Enter a successful and anchored dot com corporation like Google that rakes in millions of dollars a year, and let me tell you, if you can get your foot in the door somehow there, it's all the better for you, particularly if you have any kind of desire for web-based work or have some programming experience.  The reason that I say this is that Google is also advertising training in several of their other programs pertaining to web development, search engine development, and even their advertising campaigns.  That's big money these days, and it's the right kind of job to look for.

If I had even the smallest bit of spare time to devote to such a venture, I wouldn't even hesitate twice about finding out more information about a potential position.  I will admit that for the amount of effort that is necessary to expend during the process, the money is really decent, it's just the time commitment that is the problem.  I don't think that I could possibly find a way to squeeze one more money-making and time-consuming venture into my life.  Luckily, my current job is coming to a close at the store that I've been working at all summer, and that will be freeing up at least forty hours of my life per week.  What is even more important is that I won't have to be required to get up at five o'clock in the money every morning in order to go into work to make that money.  That is definitely going to make me a much happier camper in the long run.  Another one of my little jobs that will be slowing down somewhat significantly as the summer rolls to an end is my work with one of my professors who happens to be taking a sabbatical for the Fall semester.  There is another ten or so hours each week that is going to be freed up.  All this free time will be replaced with an exciting but challenging course load and work load for the coming semester that I can't wait to get started on.  I'm so very grateful that my fellowship pays for my living expenses as well as my insurance and tuition, because that allows me the time to focus on school work and not have to worry about fitting in working long hours in addition to the time I'm meant to be studying.  If only there were another ten hours in the day, I could definitely try and do some of this Google map work.  Even though I can't get myself involved in that, I would definitely recommend that any of you with a little bit of computer savvy and knowledge of the area where you like find out some more information and get yourself involved in making some extra money.
