Apparently
Amazon is getting ready to launch their movie service. Good for them. Last I had heard Apple was very close to reaching such a deal with the movie industry but they wanted Apple to charge more than $10/ea. Who knows what Amazon will charge.
To me it's pretty simple. People are ALWAYS going to find a way to get your stuff for free. Whether it's software, music, movies, it doesn't matter. There are always going to be people who have the time, the brains and the energy to getting around whatever you do to stop them. PLUS there are a lot more of them trying to get it than there are of you trying to protect it. I can tell you this though: if I sell blue widgets with a 100% profit for $20 and I'm selling 5,000 I would much rather sell 100,000 widgets at $10. It's like with the mp3s--why should I waste my time trying to pirate one when I can buy iit for 8 cents on allofmp3.com?
If the movie industry really wants to make money then they have to have start living in reality and get out of their fantasy world.
