Phonofone III - Amplifies your iPhone's Sound with No Power Needed
Tuesday, November 30, 2010 1:51 PM

The Phonofone III is a brilliantly designed device for your iPhone that amplifies the sound generated from the iPhone. You could do this by simply plugging it into a cheap stereo and using it to amplify the sound, but where's the ingenuity in that?

The Phonofone III is made from ceramic and is designed to receive the iPhone like a dock. The audio from the speaker is then routed through the Phonofone at 4X the decibel level, about 60dB.

Now of course you could just buy a stereo with a built in dock connector, but again I don't think the target audience for this product is looking for a cheap solutions. Seems to me it's an elegant and interesting solution to the problem of playing music from your iPhone, but that's just me. The phonofone III sells for $195 which is a lot cheaper than the $900 Phonofone II.

Cell Phone Case for the Teletubbies - ArkHippo iPhone 4 Case
Tuesday, November 23, 2010 11:44 AM

Is it just me or does this look like what a Teletubby would choose for an iPhone 4 case. It's big and soft and over-sized. Gizmodo was saying it looked like a Zack Morris phone, but other than the size of this thing it doesn't look anything like it. It think I'm going to stick with my idea or perhaps a iPhone case for cartoon characters.

So you might be asking yourself, why so big and squishy? Well it's a matter of protection. You can drop your phone while in it's cocoon of softness and it will literally bounce around without harming the device. Yeah they did it in this drop test video below. I have a hard time believing this product will take off, but it's interesting to look at. The biggest problem is you'll look like a freak if you try and stuff it in your pocket.

They come in 7 different colors and you can pick one up for $25.

Klhip - It's about time someone redesigned the nail clipper
Tuesday, November 16, 2010 12:56 PM

Have you ever wondered why you don't see several different styles of nail clippers? I guess the design works well enough, but i have to say I prefer this version to the old. The main difference is the fact you apply the pressure over that actual nail rather than the back of the clipper. This makes for a more ergonomic design, uses less force make your cut, and makes cutting your nails less awkward. The Klhip is also made of surgical stainless steel and is make in the good ole US of A. Of course this new clipper comes at a price, and at $50 I might be rethinking the ergonomics of my current clipper. Still though as they produce the price may come down.

Elecom's Wireless iPod Shuffle Headphones
Tuesday, November 16, 2010 12:24 PM

Want to listen to your iPod shuffle, but don't want wires attached to your head. Well you are in luck becuase these Elecom headphone let you do just that. Pretty clever, no? why not have the ipod simply plugin to the headphones without the need for Bluetooth and batteries. Of course this means that these ¥4,000 or $48 can only be used with a iPod Shuffle. Might of been nice to have a cord that could you connect to other devices if you wanted, but I guess that was an over site. No batteries means you don't have to worry about your headphones dying on you during trips or when you travel.

Zaggmate - iPad stand and keyboard different from the others
Tuesday, November 9, 2010 3:36 PM

The iPad has proved that it's a useful product and manufacturers have been racing to get their products to market. There are many keyboard out there for the iPad including one made by Apple, but the Zaggmate is a little different. First of all the keyboard is built into the case that fits onto the front of the iPad. It also has a stand that lets you prop the iPad up in landscape and portrait mode while you're using it. The keyboard connects the the iPad using bluetooth so you don't have to don't have to worry about connecting to the dock. The Zaggmate looks like the iPad's finish and fit perfectly with the aesthetic of the product. Looks like a home run product to me, the only thing that concerns me the lip around the keyboard. This might make it difficult to type on making your hands fit inside the border of the key board. Might be worth a hands on review however.

Lego Block Keychain Light
Tuesday, November 2, 2010 1:27 PM

I have been a fan of the humble Lego ever since I was a kid. There is something about Lego as a company and a toy that has kept me a fan for years. Why is it that Lego's never get old? Just the other day when I was home on a visit, I found the box of Legos and dumped them out and started to play with them, it was great fun.

What better way to remind yourself of your childhood days playing with legos than with a cool Lego flashlight! I mean really this thing is pretty cool. You can see that one of the connecting cylinders on top is the button to turn it on and off with is pretty clever. You can pick on of these up for $9.99 over at Perpetual Kid.

Back to the Future Mr. Fusion Krups Coffee Grinder
Wednesday, October 27, 2010 1:47 PM

Since October is the 25 anniversary of "Back to the Future" I thought I would feature this $150 Krups coffee grinder! Why you might ask? Well it's a well known fact that the Mr. Fusion nuclear fusion generator seen in the Back to the Future movies was build around a old Krups coffee grinder. This coffee grinder to be exact. It was available from 1970 - 1980s and apparently makes for a great nuclear fusion generator. If you are a true movie buff or simply a big fan of Back to the Future like I am then you already knew that, but did you know you can purchase the original Krups coffee grinder off Ebay for the ridiculous amount of $150 bucks! No, Well you can, not sure I would be willing to put down the cash for that but someone will I'm sure. Oh and the guy selling them is in Germany so the shipping cost about $43 to get it to me here in the states.

Worlds Largest Gummy Worm - OMG that's Big
Tuesday, October 26, 2010 3:32 PM

This is the self proclaimed worlds largest gummy worm, or at least that you can buy. It's a 26 inch long by 1.5 inches thick gummy worm that weighs 3 pounds and is over 4,000 calories. It's 128 times as large as a normal gummy worm and probably will put you into a sugar coma. This thing is massive and would make a great gag gift if it wasn't $27 bucks. Still though it's a great gift for someone who loves candy, specifically giant candy.

Take your next snowball fight to the next level!
Monday, October 18, 2010 2:47 PM

Well it's that time again, it's going to start to get cold and snowy, and you know what that means? Snowball fights are sure to ensue. Once the snow starts to fall you can't help but have a snow ball fight so why not take your next snowball fight to the next level with these Snowball Xistera. It's a modified version of the Jai Alai Xistera and is sure to strike fear in the hearts of the neighborhood kinds. This thing, no lie, looks like it can do some serious damage, and for only $25 bucks I think it's worth it. I think you could probably hit someone on the other side of the neighborhood with one of these things.

The lantern has 4 detachable panels that each have 6 LEDs and a on/off switch. The 8 D batteries are housed in the base unit and the panels charge off of it. When you need a some light in a specific area you just push the button on one of the panels and take it with you. It's a pretty clever idea and would be great for your next camp site.
