Mattel’s MindFlex Game - A game you play with your mind
Wednesday, September 30, 2009 6:03 PM

Mattel has released a game called Mindflex. It involves moving a ball through an obstacle course the catch is you can’t touch the ball. You have to move the ball up and down with your mind. You move it forward and back by turning the knob at the front of the device. The headset reads your alpha brain waves and can tell how hard you are concentrating. The harder you concentrate the faster the little fan runs the higher the ball will go. If you need the ball to come down you stop concentrating and the fan will slow down and the ball will lower. This is of course a very unique game and worthy of a Geek Stuff mention.

Where to get Cool Gadgets on the Cheap
Monday, September 28, 2009 3:16 PM

So I don't normally do this but I recently found a cool website called budgetgadgets.com. Say what you want about the site, but they offer some pretty cool items and everything is pretty cheap. You can get decent quality tech type items on the cheap. Some of the items even have free shipping which is awesome. They are a China whole seller, which can be scary to purchase stuff from, but this website can deliver great cheap products for the techy on a budget. They are not going to scam you and not send you your stuff. They are a legitimate company selling cool stuff for less.  I bought two items from the people over at Budget Gadgets. The first was a billiard ball lighter for $3.25 which works great and is a great novelty lighter. They have tons of cool lighters for sell for cheap. The second thing I got was a cool skype phone that was only $11 bucks. It works great and functions just like you think it should. It's light weight and is great for travel.

Also I found a coupon code WM5OFF2 that you can get you %5 off your order. Doesn't sound like much but the items are already cheap and if you are buying a lot of stuff in bulk it might add up.

I'm not the only one that thinks this website is cool CrunchGear seems to like it too.

ParkZone Vaper - Indoor RC Plane
Thursday, September 17, 2009 6:10 PM

I think this is the greatest thing since sliced bread. This thing can fly so slowly that you can fly it indoors and just about anywhere. It's super light but yet powerful enough to do flips and tricks. I think this is a great idea, I have always wanted a RC airplane but I don't ever have the time to drive someplace to fly it. I think this would be a great place to start and a fun way to get into the RC plane world.

There's better videos of this thing but this one really shows how you can fly it around in small places.

Peek Clock – I want one!
Tuesday, September 8, 2009 6:35 PM

Probably one of the coolest clocks I have seen on the Internet yet. I don’t know why it’s so appealing, maybe it’s the minimalistic style or the fact it’s black and white but it’s cool either way. It’s about 10” in diameter and 2” deep. You can pick up one of these clocks at chiasso.com for about $75 bucks. Seems a little steep if you ask me but it is a pretty unique clock not something you are going to find at Target.

Salt and Pepper Shakers for Chemists
Thursday, September 3, 2009 3:18 PM

I took a couple semesters of chemistry in college and I loved it. I have a casual love for chemistry and these salt and peppershakers make me laugh. Of course on the front of each are their appropriate chemical formulas.  Might be an interesting conversational piece for your table.

Red Ring of Death T-shirt
Wednesday, September 2, 2009 1:25 PM

Okay I have to say I am big Xbox fan and I think this geeky shirt is awesome. I have had my experiences with the red ring of death and had to spend several long weeks waiting for my Xbox to return from the clutches of the evil Microsoft repair center. Anyways there’s nothing wrong with poking fun at Microsoft for their shortcomings. I think it would be funny however if you did get gamer points for getting the red ring of death.

Lock your USB Flash Drive Literally
Tuesday, September 1, 2009 4:28 PM

There are a lot of people out there that are concerned about security, and rightfully so. If you care the kind of person that needs to carry around sensitive information on the go why not put all the sensitive information on a USB Flash Drive and then lock it up with the Brando 3 digit combination lock. Pretty cool idea if you ask me.
