Freelancers, why craig's list is your friend

In short, I got my first job being a writer. It's a small side gig, certainly not quitting the daily grind yet, but it'll be a little extra cash a month writing for blogs for Mini-Cities. And how did I acquire said job? I found it listed in the writing/editing section of craig's list. There are all kind of job listings on their every day, especially if you live in a bigger town (it's all local, you know) and I've been checking it regularly and firing off resumes. I've been contacted several times for writing samples and now, ta-da! I've got something. This may not be a short story in Asimov's or Harper's but it's getting paid to write and that's one crucial step on the journey. Oh yea, did I mention how they liked my "Award Winning Blog." ;-)

Until next time, I'm Eric and I'm an unpublished fiction writer.
