I wear an Oakland A's hat if I go to a Braves game and Tim Hudson is pitching (Oh yeah, his white Oakland A's jersey too). I've gone to many a Phillies game with a Princeton lacrosse, Cornell crew, or Florida State athletics t-shirt. Hell, I've even mixed & matched a FSU shirt and Nebraska visor attending a Nationals game. :) The New Year will bring more of the same as well.

I just like the game and none of the politics. I know that they can be important for the league but I can't stand when I hear people arguing about it. I would be a really bad politician.

Sure, if it's a player that left or was traded and he was just kind of "there" it should be in violation. But if the player actually mattered to someone I can see them still wearing it.

I still have an old Ozzie Smith jersey from before he retired. When I went to a Cardinals game a few years ago it was just instinct to wear it. He was one of the best players in MLB history and played the majority of his career in St. Louis. Franchise greats like that should be celebrated. Same for Marino. They're usually the reasons we fell in love with the team to begin with.

Seeing others wearing a jersey for a player no longer with the team makes me wince. Our nine son received a new Orlando Magic Hedo Turkoglu jersey to replace his #3 Stevie Francis jersey even though it still fit. And, I worshipped Horace Grant so much I even wore his number for soccer, but do I have his jersey. Heck no. It's long been replaced by a now well-worn Dwight Howard. There are just some ties that have to be broken.

Just my opinion.
